About Us
EccoFab Inc. was founded in 1974 by Ekstrom Carlson & Company, a leading provider of woodworking and metalworking machines throughout the twentieth century, to produce fabricated bases for their line of machine products. Spun off into a separate entity in 1996, EccoFab began diversifying the services offered to their clients and specialized in repairing or providing replacement parts for heavy equipment used by quarries, construction and site preparation companies. Realizing that their clients were experiencing shortened wearlife on specific parts, EccoFab began experimenting with Hardox steel in 1988. In 2000, EccoFab was invited to be part of the launch of the domestic US Hardox WearParts Network. EccoFab’s mission continues to revolve around providing high quality, long lasting equipment to their clients in a cost-effective manner.
Much of the success of EccoFab can be attributed to its President, Gerald “Gerry” Bauer. Having led the company since 1978, Bauer has built a reputation as a no-nonsense businessman who prefers visiting his clients to experience firsthand the wear issues that they are facing. Consistently delivering on his promise of delivering quality wear parts and liners, Bauer often serves as an unofficial expert in the use of crushing equipment, dispensing freely his extensive knowledge.
With almost 20 years experience with Hardox products, EccoFab has developed industry leading methodologies and techniques which allow them to work with end-users to produce Hardox 400 wearparts that meet most OEM parts in wearlife and durability, and often exceed those standards when Hardox 500 is used. Every part is custom made according to client specifications at their production facility centrally located in Rockford, Illinois.
